Hand over of the laboratory diagnostic equipment and consumables supported from the DTRA-CEBEP 12 September 2018 at the National Animal Health Laboratory

        The official hand over of the laboratory diagnostic equipment and consumables was held on 12 September 2018 at the National Animal Health Laboratory, Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Lao PDR.

       The laboratory diagnostic equipment consists of two Real-Time PCR machines and consumables which were handed over by Mr. Colin Crosby, Deputy Chief of Mission(DCM) from  the American Embassy to Lao PDR and Mr. Chanthaboun SIRIMANOTHAM, Deputy Director General of the Department of Livestock and Fisheries represented the Department of Livestock and Fisheries to receive the handed over equipment and consumables. These equipment and consumables were provided as part of the technical aid under the DTRA CBET of the United States of America for use by the National Animal Health Laboratory, Department of Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Lao PDR to enhance the animal disease diagnosis.

These Real-Time PCR machine and consumables worth about seventy one thousand two hundred US Dollars and will be used as the molecular diagnostic techniques and are considered the reliable test technology for the detection of the disease pathogens being used in the animal health laboratory worldwide.
